Application Fee Information
The application fee is $105 for U.S. citizens and lawful U.S. permanent residents, and $125 for all international applicants beginning for the Fall '17 quarter of admission.
Payment may be made by MasterCard or Visa credit card OR by check or money order.The application fee is devoted to the administrative cost of processing all applications received, and is not refundable under any circumstances, regardless of the outcome, the date of filing, the time of review or if, for whatever reason, the application is withdrawn.

Letters of Recommendation
You are required to have three letters of recommendation submitted on your behalf. The letters should be submitted by instructors in a discipline related to your proposed field of study who are in a position to analyze your abilities and academic promise. Letters may be submitted online or on paper via regular mail; online submissions are strongly preferred.
Academic Qualifications for International Students
Bachelor's Degree, 4 years.Complete translation listing of all courses and grades. Graduation certificate. Note: All records and translations must be certified by the issuing institution or appropriate government official.
English Language Proficiency
Applicants whose primary language is not English are required to demonstrate proficiency in English for admission consideration. The Electrical Engineering faculty study the following areas: optical and solid-state devices, including quantum electronics and optics, integrated electro-optics and acoustics, design of semiconductor devices and materials, analog and mixed-signal IC design, microwave and microwave devices, and scanning acoustic microscopy; systems engineering and signal processing, including communication theory, machine vision, signal processing, power electronics, neural networks, communications networks, systems engineering, and control systems. Related communication networks topics are also addressed by the Networked Systems M.S. and Ph.D. degrees (listed in the Interdisciplinary Studies section of the Catalogue).
Two plans are offered for the M.S. degree: a thesis option and a comprehensive examination option. For either option, students are required to develop a complete program of study with advice from the department.
