Only in special circumstances do we admit students to the masters program. We do not have special masters courses. Masters students take the same courses as the Ph.D. students. These courses are geared to preparing students for research and teaching. They are not more applied in focus as are the masters courses in programs with separate masters and Ph.D. courses. In addition, we only have financial support available to students entering the Ph.D. program.
If you are interested in eventually receiving a Ph.D., you do not need to apply first for a masters but should apply directly to the Ph.D. program. If you do not need financial support and are interested in a masters degree with the type of courses we offer please contact the Graduate Coordinator.
