Students must have an undergraduate degree (we accept students from a wide range of undergraduate majors)
GRE score must be at least 297 (new) or 1000 (old)
Minimum acceptable undergraduate GPA is 3.0
Those who speak English as a second language should consult the University’s English Proficiency Requirements
1.A copy of your completed application form (Online applications are strongly preferred)
2.Letter of Introduction and Intent (This letter should describe the student’s background and interest in studying landscape architecture.)
3.Resume
4.Three recommendation letters
5.Copy of test scores (GMAT, GRE, TOEFL, TSE)
6.Copies of transcripts from all previous colleges
7.Fellowship/assistantship application, if applicable
8.Optional: First Professional program applicants are encouraged send a portfolio (including photographs, drawings or other creative work). Digital format is preferred (please either forward a CD/DVD to the Program Assistant or email a url link to a web-based portfolio hosting service such as www.issuu.com). Only provide examples that are the sole work of the applicant (no group projects unless the work is CLEARLY identified as part of a team effort and the applicant’s precise role with the project is detailed).
9. Applicants with previous formal training in landscape architecture or an allied discipline should include examples that demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:
Hand graphics (including line drawings and rendered samples of plans, sections/ perspectives, etc.)
Digital graphics (including line drawings and rendered samples of plans, sections/ perspectives, photomontage, publication design, etc)
Grading and storm water management plans
Construction details (graphic and innovative)
Site analysis/synthesis examples
Design process drawings
Design projects at varying scales

The First Professional Master of Landscape Architecture (FPMLA) program is a three and a half year course of study (beginning in May) for those entering from a discipline other than landscape architecture.
